Fun Science Leeds – Roundhay- Holiday Club
We’re inviting all curious kids aged 5-11 to join us for some action-packed holiday fun.
Stranded on a Desert Island! Your Adventure Begins…- Oh no! Your plane has crash‑landed on a desert island in the Indian Ocean.
- Don’t worry — you’re brave, clever, and ready for an adventure.
- Your mission: survive, explore, and find a way home!
Venue: St Andrew’s Roundhay United Reformed Church, Shaftesbury Avenue, LS8 1DS
Times: Sessions run from 10am to 3pm each day
Here’s what we’ve got lined up:
Tuesday, 28th July: Day 1: SURVIVAL — Meet the Island Creatures. Your first job is to discover who you’re sharing the island with!- Explore the island and look for animals and insects that live there.
- Use pooters to gently collect tiny insects and learn all about them.
- Find safe food — what plants or fruits could help you stay strong?
- And protect yourself and your food from the cheeky monkeys!
- The sun is super strong. Investigate how to protect your skin best from the strong UV light.
- Storms roll in. Lightning flashes and the air crackles. Learn how to stay safe when there’s static electricity around.
- Night gets chilly. Explore which chemical reactions can make heat to keep you warm until morning.
- Design and build your own escape craft. Will it be a raft, a boat, or something totally new?
- Choose your supplies. What do you need to stay safe on your journey across the ocean?
- Set off for home and wave goodbye to your island adventure.
Cost:
Bookings for one day – £32 for the first child, £29 each for siblings
Bookings for all three days – £90 for the first child, £87 each for siblings
Children will be required to bring their own packed lunch.
Our staff are all DBS checked and are first aid trained.
