Do you have what it takes to make science exciting? Fun Science Cheltenham is seeking entertainers to deliver its award-winning after-school science clubs for ages 4-11 around Gloucestershire.

Bring science to life with one-hour workshops on topics ranging from DNA and evolution to volcanoes and tectonics, via human anatomy and the mysteries of the brain.

You don’t need any specialist science knowledge (although it would definitely help), as instructions and training are provided on every session. As long as you can understand and explain simple concepts like pressure and electricity at a primary school level, you’ll do great.

It is expected that you are able to converse confidently with children, and that you have some understanding of safeguarding proceedures. You should be organized and punctual, responding to quickly to emails and arriving on time to get signed in and set up.

Please note that this role is initially freelance, so you’d be responsible for your own income tax (if applicable). You must have demonstrable experience of working with children aged 4-11. A valid DBS certificate and first aid training would be beneficial, but not essential.

You must have your own car, as after-school clubs can be anywhere in Gloucestershire and will require you to transport a box of kit. Clubs take place Monday to Friday, generally starting at 3.15pm and lasting until 4.15pm.

We need you to start ASAP, so do ask for more info if this sounds like a job for you! Apply by email to Diatom Dave with a short resume, emphasizing any experience working with children or in other customer-facing roles.
