Fun Science Branch Owner

Fun Science has branches across the UK, each owned and managed by a local person who is passionate about making science fun for children. Our branches operate on a franchise basis which means that each branch is owned by someone with local connections and knowledge to inspire children from the heart of the community.

Our branch owners come from a range of backgrounds but many are ex-teachers who love working with children but want the flexibility to work without the pressures and demands of a school environment.

We have opportunities available across the UK but are particularly looking for people in Oxfordshire, London, Yorkshire, Hampshire, East Anglia, Wales and Scotland due to receiving large numbers of enquiries from schools in these areas.

What makes Fun Science different?

We give you with an opportunity to open your own (home-based) branch in your area. We provide you with all the equipment, training and knowledge that you need to start your own Fun Science business and it’s possible to start with no up-front costs so you only pay for your kit once you are earning money. It’s a good halfway point between the flexibility of starting a business on your own and the lower risk of having a more traditional job.

This is not a management franchise. What this means is that, unlike similar opportunities, you will earn money from actually running hands on, fun science workshops, clubs, parties and alternative provision rather than just managing other people and letting them have all the fun. There is no requirement to take on staff though you may choose to do this in the future to earn more.

Who are we looking for?

Essential

Experience working with children aged 5-11

The ability to pass an enhanced DBS check

A knowlege of safeguarding or willingness to learn

Good communication and organisation skills

Enthusisasm and passion for teaching science

Energetic personality

Basic computer skills

Desirable

Teaching experience (not necessarily classroom based)

Performance experience (not essential)
