Telford/Shrewsbury/West Midlands/Staffordshire – After school club leader
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with experience working with children and basic scientific knowledge to run hour long after school clubs on 2 – 5 afternoons per week (Monday – Friday) in schools in and around Telford, the West Midlands and Staffordshire. You will be given all the equipment and training you need to run the sessions and will work with the same group of children aged 4-11 each week. You will need to be available from around 2pm – 5pm on at least 2 days a week. There will be opportunities for further work including one off workshops, holiday clubs and parties. You will need to be positive, confident talking to a group of children and able to take charge of the group to ensure they are able to work through the experiments which may include slime making, fizzing, bubbling and hair raising.
The rate of pay is £30 per session which includes 15 minutes setting up, an hour long session and then 10-15 minutes packing away/tidying up.
Own transport is essential but full mileage is paid.

Placement/Work Experience Opportunities
Here at Fun Science Shropshire we offer placement and work experience opportunities to students aged 16+. We have opportunities to assist with after school and home education sessions, to learn about marketing and running a business and to get involved with lesson planning. This would be perfect for a student hoping to study/studying teaching, education, following a PGCE course or looking for a role in business administration or marketing. Students on work placements/work experience may be offered paid work subject to a successful work placement. All expenses (if any) would be paid and all resources provided.
